Ambiance Systems Wins National Excellence Award from World’s leading Lighting Control Manufacturer
The Winning Project
The Timbers is an energy efficient, award winning, Showcase house built by Capital Construction. The initial requirements were to integrate technology that would assist in the principles of the Green building movement: energy efficiency and air quality. Since the project was also categorized as a luxury home it was just as important to give the client a high end entertainment system that would not clash with the Adirondack style inspired interior design.
A single touch screen interface was installed in the kitchen. All six of the radiant heating zones, as well as, the one cooling zone were incorporated into the system using communicating thermostats. The kitchen thermostat utilizes a remote temperature sensor so that it can be "remoted" to the basement, freeing the area of unsightly wall clutter. We programmed lifestyle based set-point changes impacting energy usage through convenience, i.e. "Goodnight," "Goodbye" and "Hello." With one touch, an entire household zone can be immediately initiated. All zones can be centrally adjusted from the kitchen's touch screen
This project was also a finalist in the Consumer Electronics Association’s Mark of Excellence “Home of the Year” award earlier this year.
